Mission & Vision

Go therefore and make disciples...

Calvary Chapel Escondido has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations as such, only to their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ. We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians.

The Mission

The mission of Calvary Chapel Escondido is to love God and love others (Matt. 22:37-40) by fulfilling the Great Commission, which is to make disciples of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20). We believe that our part in the Great Commission is to make disciples here in North County San Diego, equipping and sending out to all nations in the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). We believe that a successful church is a church that is growing in love for Jesus, love for other people, and engaged in making disciples.

The Vision

Teaching the Bible
Acts 20:27-28; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We are committed to simply teaching the whole Bible simply, going verse by verse, chapter by chapter, and book by book, in order that the Christian may be “complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:17)

Equipping the Saints
Ephesians 4:11-16
Our desire is for each individual to be equipped with a personal, working knowledge of the Bible that they might come into full maturity. Thus, we place a great emphasis upon the teaching of God’s Word. We equip the church so that they can be successful in serving each other and the community.

Sending In World Missions
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15
We believe that God has a heart for the nations and that our part as a local church is to preach the gospel and make disciples in our local community, and then send out those that are equipped into the rest of the world to make disciples.

Jesus Builds The Church
Matthew 16:18; Zechariah 4:6
We believe that our church is the Lord’s church, we are His people, and He is doing the work that needs to take place in His people. Jesus said that He would build His Church, so we don’t try to build it ourselves. We just rely on Him to build it and seek to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do.
